Short Review of part of Chapter Four. Seeking the Removal of a Generational Bloodline Curse.

As the bird by wandering, as the swallow by flying, so the curse causeless shall not come. Proverbs 26:2 As this scripture clearly states, if a curse has a cause or reason, it can attach itself to a person and it will be able to affect their bloodline. We can petition for the removal of a generational curse from our own family line and from those of others. The Lord is looking for someone to stand in the gap and present an appeal to Him. When the case is successfully presented in the Courtroom of Heaven, we have the privilege to execute the judgment of His Grace and Mercy. This execution is in the form of the declarations of His blessings for this particular case.

Dear Heavenly Father, I am here today for this pre-appointed court appearance. I can stand here in the righteousness of Jesus Christ because I have prepared myself through the prayer of repentance and forgiveness. Because I am in Him and He is in me, I have been given Power of Attorney to act on His behalf (as He would act) toward those who I am here to represent. The case I am presenting now is the one that may be against my generational bloodline.As an Ambassador of Reconciliation,I am standing in the gap in repentance and ask for forgiveness for any sin that has been committed against the Lord and His Word by any of my ancestors.In Isaiah 58:12, You speak of those who would stand in the gap for the generations. You say;Those from among you shall build the old waste places; You shall raise up the foundations of many generations. You shall be called the Repairer of the Breach, the Restorer of Streets to Dwell In. I am thankful and blessed that I can stand in the gap for my lineage. I believe that when this scripture says those from among you it means that I am included, because I am of You, Jesus. So I stand before You, pleading the case on behalf of myself and others. I am here to build up the old waste places the enemy has stolen, with the help of the Holy Spirit and Jesus. We will raise up the foundations of many generations. In Jesus Christ, I can be called a restorer of the Breach.I am asking for a restoration on behalf of each of the generations before,and for those who follow. The restoration I am petitioning for is a spiritual restoration, an erasing of sins from the past, expunging the family record and reversing any curses; making them into blessings that flow down the family bloodline. According to Your Word, if a curse can find a cause or a legal right to attach itself to us or anyone in our bloodline, it can legally operate within us, both spiritually and physically. Sin gives the curse the cause it is looking for. You say in 1 Corinthians 15:56 that The sting of death is sin, and the strength of sin is the law. I know that repentance for sin and the application of the Blood of Jesus over the sin is the only way to remove all legal rights the enemy has to operate through a curse.I am here to present a plea regarding every accusation or charge the Court might be enforcing against generational bloodline because of the legal rights that have been obtained for any outstanding debt of sin. I ask that all recorded sin be included. I ask that the record of evidence being presented against my spiritual legacy would be traced back to the very beginning of when family heritage came into being. I request this investigation include both sides of parents lineage,as well as anyone who has ever been considered a legal part of my generational bloodline. This would include anyone who has married into or become a part of the family through legal adoption. Please include all of their birth bloodlines in this plea.I ask, as I stand in the gap repenting that You remove all altars or strongholds in mind that may have been built up throughout generations.... --Jeanette Strauss

Translation often causes irritation about which of the words fits better in a specific sentence. Especially the non-native speakers have a lot of problems in deciding which of the words is more suitable to use in a certain context and they have to face the question if any one of these words is suitable in any context. I bought this book on a whim and much to my surprise I loved it! It is a quick, easy and enjoyable read. Not to mention the leading man is dreamy and steamy : )

All the right curves..

Very entertaining big girl book! I loved Cassidy and Jason together. They totally completed one another right from the start! I really think the author did a great job with how Cassidy handled the crappy situations that kept being handed to her. Specially how she handled getting the wedding invite to Bailey and Jonathon's wedding. Can we say Carrie Underwood?? Lol I recommend this book for the readers that enjoy great humor and lovable characters. The ONLY reason it didn't get 5 stars was because the ending was like hitting a brick wall street a nice Sunday drive!

Excellent book to prepare for wireless exam

To start off let's consider the practical side to this book. In the last 30 days we have had 3 engineers pass their CCNA wireless certification using this book as their primary resource. All passed on their first attempt. Guess that pretty much shows that this book can get the job done.

This book is geared to the CCNA which is entry level and covers a wide range of topics but not in great depth. The depth of coverage is well suited to the level you need to attain for the exam. I found the book easy to read, well organized, clear, concise and accurate.

The book starts with basics of RF and wireless LAN topologies and technologies. The book covers 802.11 b/g/a/n standards, their modulation types, and the encoding methods. It spends a good amount of time on security, encryption, and authentication which is very useful. You will learn about the Cisco Unified Wireless Network Architecture and how the AP and controller perform their functions to provide connectivity for clients and allow them to roam. The section on implementing a Cisco wireless LAN does not go into much detail and just covers the basics of installing and configuring the Lightweight AP, Wireless LAN Controller, and WCS. The book is not intended to make you an expert in this area. It is certainly helpful if you can get some hands on time with the equipment to get more familiar with the menus and tabs so you will know what you find in each area. The book gives you the starting point but you will need to get some experience. Finally, the last section will take you through administrative and troubleshooting tasks. You will become familiar with some "Show" and "Debug" commands from the controller CLI. Again, it is very helpful to get some hands on time to really get comfortable with these topics.

At the end of each chapter are four sections that are very useful;
1. Inside the exam. Gives areas you need to review and focus on for the test.
2. Certification Summary. Summarizes key topics and concepts in the chapter.
3. Two minute Drill. Bullet points covering each main topic for review prior to the exam.
4. Self Test. A quick check to verify your comprehension and give additional review of the topics.

What the book does not cover is basic switching and routing. Since the exam requires that you have a current CCNA certification there is no need to cover this material.

The book comes with a CD with practice exams. I will have to admit that I only ran the exam engine once to see how it worked. Seemed to function fine, was somewhat like the Cisco exam, and is a good method to check your knowledge of the material. The CD also has a .pdf with the contents of the book. This can be handy if you don't want to carry the book all the time.

Overall I give this book high marks and found it to be an excellent resource.

A good introductory response to Dispensationalism

For about the last hundred years, the evangelical church has taken the hermeneutical system of Dispensationalism for granted. The best known feature of the Dispensational system is its pretribulational, premillennial Rapture, but the essence of Dispensationalism is a division of history into two or more (typically seven) "dispensations," or divine economies, which necessarily includes a sharp distinction between God's chosen people, the children of Israel, and the Christian Church.
Mathison's Dispensationalism: Rightly Dividing the People of God? is a good, basic introduction and critique of the Dispensational system. He begins by examining the Dispensational doctrine of the Church - that God has separate redemptive plans for Israel and the Church. By contrast, Mathison shows how believers in the Old Testament and New Testament eras are united in Christ, the only way of salvation, and how the covenants and promises made to Israel are fulfilled in the Church.
The middle section of the book, in which Mathison critiques the Dispensational doctrine of salvation, is weaker. While the Dispensational theologians he chooses to interact with do have defective views of the doctrines of grace, I do not believe this is true of Dispensationalists in general. John Macarthur, for example, is a committed Dispensationalist, though not of the Scofield/Chafer variety, and Reformed in his soteriology. It does not seem to me that the two camps are mutually exclusive. Nonetheless, the chapter on Lordship salvation does an excellent job of highlighting the antinomianism of many prominent Dispensational theologians. One thing Mathison doesn't bring out, but could have, is that the Lordship controversy is basically an internal squabble amongst Dispensationalists. Outside the Dispensational camp, those who are Christ's see no conflict between Law and Gospel.
But Mathison bounces back with his section on eschatology, showing the weak foundation on which the Rapture teaching rests. Virtually all the proof-texts used to defend the Rapture contrast the wrath of God against unbelievers (eternal punishment) with salvation in Christ (eternal life), yet the Dispensationalists would have us believe they contrast Tribulation with Rapture. As a historic Premillennialist, I find Mathison's implicit postmillennialism less convincing, but he does make some good points about the interpretation of key eschatological passages as Revelation 20 and Matthew 24.
On the whole, there are probably better and more technical critiques of the Dispensational system available, but I haven't yet read them. Mathison's book is a good overview, aimed at laymen. Dispensationalism is at least partly responsible for the refusal of Christians to apply their time and minds to an active participation in, and interaction with, all aspects of our society. After all, why attempt to turn the world upside-down if we're going to get Raptured moments before the Antichrist trashes everything? But those who are genuinely seeking God's truth owe it to themselves to buy or borrow this book, read it, and search the Scriptures to see if what Mathison says is so.

A Book Worth Reading

This book, while it is very challenging, is much worth the read. Having been brought up with a Dispensational backround, I found that Keith Mathison identified with Dispensational beliefs very well and was able to articulate how and why Dispensationalist have dropped the ball on some very key doctrines of the Church.
I would highly recommend this book to anyone seeking the truth of the Scriptures.

Not for those that don't follow Calvinistic views

While there is some decent information in this book, overall I was disappointed with it. While I don't agree with many views of those that push Dispensationalism, this book seems to spend too much time attempting to point out that Dispensationalists do not follow Calvinistic doctrine. It becomes clear that the writer is more of an arrogant Calvinist than someone who wants to present an objective perspective on Dispensationalism. Starts out decent, and then raises flags with it's agreement to strict Calvinistic doctrine.

price too high, even for a text

The book is packed full of history that I have only seen in bits and pieces here and there. It is like watching the Discovery channel (fun, informative, and somewhat unbiased). Although the price is extremely high, I think it is currently the only book of it's type. A less expensive way to begin a study of the history of Japanese food is by reading "The Folk Art of Japanese Country Cooking," by Gaku Homma. Check that one out first and if the appetite is not satisfied, consider investing in this one.

Argh.

As the previous reviewer mentioned, although this book neatly summarizes the historical development of Japanese dietary patterns and symbolism, its price is much higher than one might consider reasonable. This makes the lack of an index an especially egregious flaw; although the table of contents is reasonably informative, it doesn't provide an adequate substitute.
If you absolutely must have a single-volume reference on the subject, this would certainly conserve space on your bookshelf, but I suspect that most people would consider their money better-spent if spread across several different books that add up to the same total price.
