About the Author
Susanna was born in 1970. She travelled widely as a child, living in Germany, the US and the UK, and spending her school years in wilder parts of the English Lake District. She studied history at Cambridge before joining the British Foreign Service in her mid twenties. Since then, her career has taken her to Poland, Iraq and Pakistan; she spent a few months in Jerusalem helping a documentary team, and learnt Arabic at universities in Oman and Pakistan. Susanna is currently living in London and Lincolnshire. Her travels have been the inspiration for her novels, in which she hopes to capture some of the excitement of the unknown and the complexities of life as an Englishwoman abroad.

Loved this book!

Highly rated because I was drawn right in to the story and setting. The descriptions brought me back to this part of the world and the characters are very well developed so you feel invested in the outcome. I also loved the small personal details and cultural intricacies that make the story feel very real. Most importantly I did not want to put it down. You don't need to be into "Great Game" novels to enjoy this book, but if you are interested in this topic, you should definitely read this one.

About the Author
Laura Desfor Edles (PhD, University of California, Los Angeles, 1990) is Professor of�Sociology at California State University, Northridge. She is the author of Symbol and Ritual�in the New Spain: The Transition to Democracy after Franco (1998) and Cultural Sociology�in Practice (2002), as well as various articles on culture, theory, race/ethnicity, and social�movements.

Scott Appelrouth (PhD, New York University, 2000) is Professor at California State�University, Northridge. His interests include sociological theory, cultural sociology, and�social movements. He has taught classical and contemporary theory at both the graduate�and undergraduate levels, and has published several articles in research- and teaching-oriented�journals on social movements, theory, and the controversies over jazz during the
1920s and rap during the 1980s. His current research focuses on political discourse in�American party platforms.

About the Author
The late Paul G. Hiebert (1932-2007) was distinguished professor of mission and anthropology at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School and previously taught at Fuller Theological Seminary. He also served as a pastor and missionary to India. He received his PhD from the University of Minnesota and was the author or coauthor of numerous articles and books in the fields of anthropology and missions.

Classic Book on Christian Anthropology

If you are new to Christian Anthropology, you may not have heard of Paul Heibert. If you are well read, you will know that Hiebert is one of the giants in this field. While this book was written in 1983, it is still being used extensively. Hiebert has written many books and if you read them, you will see that he often repeats himself by dealing with the same or similar topics in different books. This book is a very thorough presentation of Christian views towards Cultural Anthropology.
The book is highly recommended for missionaries or anyone who is studying other cultures.

About the Author
Jay M. Shafritz is Professor of Public and International Affairs at the University of Pittsburgh in Pennsylvania. He is the author, co-author, or editor of over forty textbooks and reference books on business and public administration. He holds a doctorate from Temple University and an MPA from the Baruch College of the City University of New York.

J. Steven Ott is a professor and dean emeritus at the University of Utah. He has written numerous books on organization theory, organizational behavior, nonprofit organizations, and organizational culture. His recent journal articles have appeared in the International Journal of Organization Theory and Behavior, Public Organization Review, Public Performance & Management Review, Public Administration Review, and Public Integrity. He teaches organizational behavior, organizational leadership and change, the nonprofit sector in society, nonprofit organization management, and organization theory. Ott worked as a management consultant to organizations in the nonprofit and public sectors for 26 years before joining the faculties at the universities of Maine and Utah. His Ph.D. is from the University of Colorado, his M.S. from the Sloan School of Management at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and his B.A. form Pennsylvania State University.

Yong Suk Jang is a professor of Public Administration at Yonsei University. He received his Ph.D. in sociology from Stanford University and taught at the University of Utah (2001-2004) and Korea University (2004-2008). His current research interests include macro-comparative analyses of nation-states and organizations, governance, and neo-institutionalism. Recent publications include Classics of Organization Theory, 6th & 7th ed. (Wadsworth Cengage Learning) and articles in Administrative Science Quarterly, Asian Business and Management, Sociological Perspectives, International Sociology, International Journal of Comparative Sociology, Social Science Computer Review, Development and Society, Korean Public Administration Review, Journal of Korean Association for Policy Studies, The Journal of Educational Administration, Review of International Area Studies, and Quarterly Journal of Labor Policy, Human Resource Management Review, and Korean Journal of Sociology.

About the Author

Dr. Sara Cavaliere has been assistant professor at the University of Montpellier in the Laboratory for Aggregates, Interfaces and Materials for Energy–Charles Gerhardt Institute for Molecular Chemistry and Materials since 2009. After graduating in chemistry from the University of Milan, Italy, she received her Ph.D. in chemistry and materials science in 2006 in Versailles, France. She carried out postdoctoral research work at the University of Freiburg, Germany, and the University of Lyon, France. In 2012, she was awarded an ERC starting grant (project SPINAM) on the use of electrospinning for the elaboration of integrated membrane-electrode assemblies for energy devices. Her research interests focus on the design and preparation of nanostructured and nanofibrous materials for energy conversion and storage applications.

Worth reading, sharing, and reading again

I loved this story. Once you begin, you cannot put it down. Phyllis shows that no matter what one experienced in life, there are no excuses for doing the right thing. Her mother's life and lifestyle, gives one food for thought, when you understand and know the reasons behind it. Never judge. Many great lessons here. I would highly recommend reading it. I would love to meet Phyllis myself! What an honor that would be.

HIGHLY recommended!

This book was amazing. I have no idea what the other reviews are talking about with the "no new information" comments. Did we read the same book? There was tons of new info we haven't heard from Amber before. It did ELABORATE on stuff we already knew about but again, it's still new info. We learned plenty of behind the scenes things like what her life was like as a child and teen before MTV, the real extent of her addiction that was kept hidden from us, suicide attempts, withdrawing from drugs in jail, life in prison, more details on her family dynamic, her experience with her father nearly dying and caring for him while recovering, she opens up about sex addiction, partying with paparazzi, and also shares details on relationships we never knew about like with Dan or her rehab boyfriend. There are more examples but really this book is full of new insight and details that we haven't shared and that's part of what makes it so interesting. Is there also stuff we know about? Yes. Of course. We watched her life on TV for years. But to say it's redundant and full of no new info is VERY incorrect.

Amber is EXTREMELY candid in this book and I read it all in one day as I found it so interesting I could not put it down. Yes there are "a million Ambers" as one reviewer said, but that doesn't make her story any less compelling and valid. Same for anyone else with a story like hers. I think the fact that many people can relate to her experiences is a good thing and not a discredit to the book. I truly feel she's trying to be honest about her life and simply share her story in hopes it helps others in some way. She was basically on the brink of death from addiction but she found the will to take extreme measures to help herself and I see no fault in that. Quite the opposite really.

Anybody who is a fan of Teen Mom and/or Amber will find this story very interesting to read. It's well written and honest. It flows well chronologically too, unlike Kail's book which was a smattering of random stories. Ambers is a well laid out autobiographical account of her life. Take what you will from it. I think most people will like it.

This book truly shed a whole new light on Amber, who I have followed since 16 and pregnant. Wow has she really changed her life around. I loved the book, it even inspired me to start writing. Nice easy read too, I recommend this to anyone.

Very honest & enjoyable book!

I truly enjoyed this book. So glad I read it. The cameras truly made Amber out to be a monster, and after reading this book I can understand why she was the way she was toward Gary. I'm tv they made this story out totally different, and Iliked reading Amber's side of the story. It's an easy read, and she is very open about her life. I would recommend this book to anyone. I think anyone who reads it would enjoy it!

It is an excellent tutorial on producing a finished commercial building using Autodesk Revit Architecture. This book and its counterpart, Residential Design Using Autodesk Revit Architecture 2011, are a must for any beginner to intermediate user of Revit Architecture. Following the step by step tutorial style book, a design is built from the ground up with all the explanations needed to complete a Residential or Commercial designed building. Each year Revit is updated and these tutorial books keep up with the latest release. These books are used in colleges, trades schools and high schools.

John Stine Provides A Comprhensive Format To Learn Revit

I purchased this book "Commercial Design Using Revit Architecture 2011" by John Stine because of another book by John Stine, "Residential Design Using Revit Architecture 2011" and I find this just as good by providing step by step instuctions along with pictures of what the screen looks like at each point of the instructions along with highlights and arrows pointing to what needs to be selected. If you are at the beginner or intermediate level this books offers a clear and consise approach from which to learn from.

I had to get this book for my revit class and i really enjoyed it. I never sold my book back because i still refer to the book when i need help. The directions are very clear and don't skip any steps. I highly recommend this book!

Past projects are Double Standards (2012), the Drone Survival Guide (2013), and Behind the Blue Screen (2014). His work has received several international awards and is featured in exhibitions around the world. He was a lecturer at the Design Academy, Eindhoven, the Willem de Kooning Academy of Art in Rotterdam, and the Royal Academy of Art in The Hague.

Gives You a New Perspective on How Things Around You are Designed

I loved this book and I've been interested in the topic since it was first mentioned by another author I really like. It's not very dense, I could have easily read the whole thing in one sitting. It has a lot of pictures and talks about controversial design from a variety of case studies. I like how he took something that could have easily been boring and academic, and made it into a fun read.
